Zimrahil as Maria
"I wanted to come up with something simple because that would be what Maria could afford. I decided to go with white since that was the prevailing colour during that era, I thought of brown for the jacket but decided to go with something really plain and I had the drape for the black already. I trimmed the hat with white and found some feathers for it. They would have cost a pretty penny but would have been worth it and very precious to her. I wore the costume to a Halloween party last year and people liked it, it was a great opportunity to explain about Hornblower."
